Leon Bailey Injury Forces Aston Villa to Tackle Brighton Clash Without Star Winger
Leon Bailey will miss Aston Villa’s upcoming Premier League clash against Brighton this Saturday.
Bailey’s absence comes as a blow to Villa, who are already grappling with a growing list of injured players.
The Reggae Boy, who had been in fine form for Villa this season, was forced to leave the pitch prematurely during Wednesday’s encounter with Everton.
The setback occurred in the form of an apparent hamstring injury that forced him to exit before halftime.
Bailey’s absence from the squad will undoubtedly be a concern for fans, as his dynamic presence on the pitch has been instrumental in Villa’s early-season performances.
In a brief statement regarding Bailey’s injury, manager Unai Emery stated, “Bailey is out, it’s not a big injury, but he is not ready for tomorrow.”
While the injury is described as not being severe, it remains uncertain when the Jamaican winger will be fit to return to action.
The responsibility of filling Bailey’s boots in the starting lineup will likely fall to Nicolo Zaniolo, who made a cameo appearance as his substitute during the Everton match.
Zaniolo will be aiming to seize this opportunity to cement a more consistent role in Villa’s starting XI while Bailey recovers.
Villa’s injury list now includes: Leon Bailey, Jacob Ramsey, Alex Moreno, Emi Buendia, Tyrone Mings.
