Jamaica Takes Silver in Women’s 4x400m Relay at Budapest World Champs!

In a thrilling finale at the 19th edition of the World Athletics Championships, Jamaica secured a commendable silver medal in the women’s 4x400m relay on Sunday.

The Jamaican team, consisting of Candice McLeod, Janieve Russell, Nickisha Pryce, and Stacey Ann Williams ran a season’s best 3:20.88s but was was edged out by the Netherlands in a nail-biting finish.

From the starting gun, the Jamaican quartet showcased their dominance, leading the race from the very beginning.

Candice McLeod set a strong pace, followed by Janieve Russell, Nickisha Pryce, and Stacey Ann Williams.

  

Their synchronised effort seemed to cement their path to victory, until the final moments of the race.

However, the defining moment of the race arrived in the last five meters when Stacey Ann Williams, the anchor for Jamaica, was overtaken by Femke Bol of the Netherlands.

This swift move allowed the Netherlands to claim its first-ever victory in the event, leaving the crowd in awe of their performance.

The Dutch team clocked a remarkable world-leading time of 3 minutes and 20.72 seconds, securing their place in history.
