Jamaica’s Dujuan ‘Whisper’ Richards Becomes Youngest Jamaican Player to Score in Gold Cup!

Seventeen-year-old Dujuan ‘Whisper’ Richards made history in the Gold Cup on Wednesday, becoming the youngest Jamaican player to ever score in the tournament.

Given a chance to showcase his talent in the closing minutes of the game against Trinidad and Tobago, Whisper impressed by scoring a goal from a deflected shot taken outside the box.

The deflection left the opposing goalkeeper rooted to the spot, unable to react in time as the ball rolled into the net.

Following the victory, head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson highlighted Whisper’s achievement during the post-match press conference.

Despite facing criticism for including the youngster in the squad due to his lack of recent competitive football experience, Hallgrimsson emphasized that the teenager only needed ten minutes on the field to make his mark.

In earlier news, it was reported that Dujuan ‘Whisper’ Richards had signed a pre-contract with the Jamaican Phoenix Football Academy.

Now, English football club Chelsea FC has officially announced that Richards will join their ranks in the upcoming season after he turns 18.

This move signifies a significant step in the young player’s career as he prepares to join a top-tier club like Chelsea.
