Jamaica Beat Germany & Switzerland in Men’s World Lacrosse Championships!

In a thrilling showdown, Jamaica emerged victorious with a commanding 10-5 win over Switzerland in their second pool ‘D’ match of the Men’s World Lacrosse Championships held in the United States.

The Jamaican team, led by the exceptional performance of Khairi Sears, displayed exceptional skill and determination throughout the game.

Entering the fourth quarter with a narrow 7-5 lead, Jamaica showcased their prowess in the final phase by scoring three unanswered goals, solidifying their dominance on the field. Khairi Sears proved to be the standout player of the match, contributing an impressive five goals to Jamaica’s final tally of 10.

The encounter between these two teams held a significant level of anticipation, as the previous faceoff resulted in Jamaica triumphing over Switzerland with an 8-6 scoreline. With that in mind, the Swiss team was determined to seek redemption and turn the tables in their favor, making the match even more intense.

  

Jamaica began their campaign in the tournament with a remarkable 5-3 victory against the highly regarded German team, who were considered favourites in the group. Isaac Newland took the spotlight in the opening match by scoring four of Jamaica’s five goals.

National coach Dale Walker expressed his confidence in his team’s abilities and anticipated that Switzerland would be motivated to seek revenge for their previous defeat. The Jamaican squad displayed tremendous teamwork, coordination, and resilience throughout the game, which contributed significantly to their well-deserved triumph.
