Jamaica’s COVID-19 Positivity Rate Surges To Record High Of 60.3%

Jamaica’s COVID-19 positivity rate has risen to a record high of 60.3 per cent.

According to the Ministry of Health – 1,714 cases were confirmed from 2,588 samples on Monday.

Hospitalisations from COVID-19 have also risen by 13 to 307.

Of those admitted, 31 are severely ill, and 10 are listed as being in critical condition.

  

A 77-year-old man from St. Catherine is the latest to die from the virus in Jamaica, increasing the death toll to 2,502.

Three more deaths are being investigated by the Health Ministry.
