One More COVID-19 Death Recorded Locally

Thirty-seven more people have returned positive tests for COVID-19, increasing the island’s case count to 50,757.

The new cases are comprised of 23  females and 14 are males, with an age range of 2 to 98 years.

Westmoreland recorded the highest number of cases with 11, followed by Hanover with 7.

St. James had 5, St. Elizabeth and Kingston and St. Andrew had 4 each, St. Catherine had 3, Manchester had 2, and Clarendon had 1 case.

Trelawny, St. Thomas, St. Mary, St. Ann and Portland recorded no new case.

  

The positivity rate is 7.6 %.

A 70-year-old male from Kingston & St. Andrew is the most recent person to succumb to COVID-19, increasing the death toll to 1,131.

92 people are currently hospitalised with 21 patients moderately ill and 10 critically ill.

1,029 more people have recovered from COVID-19, pushing total recoveries to 40,029.

There are 9,237 active cases in the country.
