COVID-19 Tally Now 478 After Five More Positive Tests

Five more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Jamaica. 

This brings the tally of confirmed cases to 478.

One of the new cases is an 18-year-old male from St Mary who is a contact of a previously confirmed case.

The other cases include a 17-year-old female and three men who range in age from 18 to 69 years.

  

Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Christopher Tufton has announced that eight more people have recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 57.

Globally there are at least 3,844,260 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease and at least 265,767 deaths related to the disease.

To date, there have been nine COVID-19 related deaths in Jamaica.

434 persons are currently in isolation locally and 38 are currently quarantined in a government facility.
