Kenny Rogers Dies At 81
Country music legend Kenny Rogers has died of natural causes at age 81.
News of his passing came via his verified Twitter account in a statement late Friday.
“The Rogers family is sad to announce that Kenny Rogers passed away last night at 10:25 p.m. at the age of 81,” it read. “Rogers passed away peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family.”
Throughout his storied musical career, Rogers charted more than 120 hit singles across various music genres, topped the country and pop album charts for more than 200 individual weeks in the United States alone, and sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
Due to the national COVID-19 emergency, his family is planning a small private service at this time with a public memorial planned for a later date.
