Historic! U20 Reggae Girlz Destroy Canada 3-1 To Reach Round Of 16 In WC Qualifiers

On Wednesday Jamaica’s U-20 Reggae Girlz etched their names in the history books after brushing aside Canada in the CONCACAF Women’s U20 World Cup qualifying championship in the Dominican Republic.

Jamaica won the exciting encounter 3-1 despite having only 37 percent of the possession.

Jamaica now moves atop Group C and has earned a spot in the round of 16 where they will face Bermuda on Saturday.

The Reggae Girlz scored via Jody Brown, Lacey Murray and Marlee Fray.

  

Jody Brown opened the scoring in the 20th minute and Lacey Murray doubled Jamaica’s lead in minute 80.

Marley Fray found the back of the net to increase Jamaica’s tally to three in the 89th minute.

The Canadians got a well deserved consolation goal a minute into stoppage time and have finished second in the group.
