Reggae Girl Khadija Shaw Named Among Top 100 Female Footballers Globally For 2019

The Jamaica Football Federation has extended congratulations to Reggae Girl Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw on being named by the Guardian, International Edition, as one of the top 100 female footballers for 2019.

Shaw who now plays for French professional club Bordeaux has had an excellent year. Her achievements have included: 

  • scoring nine goals (of 10 games) to date for Bordeaux, currently the second highest at the women’s professional club level

 

  • becoming the all time leader in goals scored for Jamaica/male and female. This she accomplished in the Caribbean leg of Women’s Olympic Qualifiers in October 2019

 

  • cementing her place as the most impactful female Caribbean player ever

 

  • becoming the youngest female player to achieve 40 goals for her national team

Shaw was a member of the history-making Jamaica National Senior team which qualified for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup where she recorded an assist in the goal scored by Jamaica against Australia.
