Ignite IGL Foundation Brings Festive Fun And Christmas Gifts To ‘The Nest’

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and the Ignite IGL Foundation recently created an unforgettable celebration for the 23 youngsters, and staff members, at The Nest Children’s Home on Mannings Hill Road.

The contingent of 10 IGL staff members and six IGL medical and nursing scholarship awardees from The University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona brought a traditional Christmas dinner, complete with sorrel, ice-cream and Christmas cake for a mouth-wateringly delicious fare.

Add to that air-brush painting, a photo booth to capture the moments, Christmas carols and sing-along, Christmas gifts, a DJ dropping some of the latest musical tracks, and competitions to show off the best dance moves, and you get the full picture.

The Ignite IGL Foundation has been sponsoring the Christmas celebration at The Nest – which is run by the Salvation Army – for several years. Annakaye Tucker, Trade Marketing Manager, IGL, said the joyful laughter, happy faces, and appreciative feedback keeps the team coming back.

“It’s always a joy to see the children having so much fun whenever we return,” said Tucker. “A Christmas treat can seem so insignificant for someone on the outside looking in, but through the eyes of a child, it’s a big deal. They are creating beautiful memories and we’re so happy to be a part of it.”
