US Secretary of State – Rex Tillerson To Visit Jamaica Today

U.S. Secretary of  State Rex Tillerson is scheduled to land on the island today.

His arrival will mark the final leg of his Latin American and Caribbean tour.

He commenced a a seven-day tour around several countries in the region on February 1st.

His visits are focused on “Promoting a safe and prosperous hemisphere with energetic and democratic security”.

Mr. Tillerson, who has visited Argentina, Mexico, Peru and Colombia, will be on the island for just a few hours.

He is scheduled to engage in dialogue with Prime Minister Andrew Holness.

A media briefing following their talks is scheduled for 1:45pm at the Office of the Prime Minister.
