Jamaican Leon Bailey Scores Cheeky Back-Heel Goal For Bayer Leverkusen

The Whizz-Kid Strikes Again!

On Saturday Leon Bailey scored a cheeky goal in the German Bundesliga to help his club Bayer Leverkusen earn a well deserved 4-1 victory at Hoffenheim.

Bailey also helped to create two of the other three goals scored by his team.

The talented winger broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute when he used his heel to redirect the ball from a cross into the bottom right corner.

Hoffenheim’s shot-stopper Oliver Baumann had little chance of stopping the expertly directed and weighted back heel by the Jamaican.

Bailey proved to be quite problematic for Hoffenheim throughout the encounter. In the second half he skilfully evaded tackles from defenders before whipping the ball in for for Lars Bender, who crossed for Julian Baumgartlinger to double the lead.

Bailey produced another superb pass to Lucas Alario who found the back of the net with 20 minutes remaining.

With this most recent win, Bayer moves into second place in Germany’s top flight, trailing the reigning champions Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich sits atop the league with 44 points from 18 games while Bayer Leverkusen has 31 from 19 games.

This is Bailey’s seventh goal of the season.
