Thompson comfortably wins 100m Diamond League Race

Elaine Thompson comfortably won the women’s 100m sprint at second meet of the 2017 Diamond League series in Shanghai, China.

The two-time Olympic sprint champion clocked 10.78 to cross the finish line ahead of American Olympic 200m silver medallist Tori Bowie, who finished second in a time of 11.04.

Thompson’s electrifying acceleration saw her create a sizable distance between herself and the rest of the field and she continues her incredible run of form following her scintillating 200m win last week.

In that race, Thompson crossed the line in 22.19 seconds, well ahead of Schippers who finished in a time of 22.45.
