Jamaican Man Donning Pilot’s Uniform Nabbed at US Airport After Allegedly Attempting to Smuggle Cocaine

A Jamaican man was recently arrested after US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) found cocaine in his suitcase at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

The man has been identified as Mario Hudson.

He was intercepted by the CBP after arriving via a flight from Kingston.

According to the CBP:

“On March 27, CBP officers intercepted passenger Mr. Mario Hudson, a citizen of Jamaica, arriving from Kingston, Jamaica. Mr. Hudson was dressed in what appeared to be a pilot’s uniform and claimed he was a “dead-heading crewmember”. During the baggage inspection, CBP officers discovered that Mr. Hudson had what appeared to be two fraudulent Delta Airlines ID badges.”

The CBP also states that a subsequent probe of Hudson’s luggage led to the discovery of a white powder that tested positive for cocaine.

According to the CBP, Hudon was arrested for the import of a controlled substance and has been turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.

The total weight of cocaine seized was approximately 5 lbs. with an estimated street value of USD$85,000.
