Calabar High and Kingston College (KC) are currently in a heated battle as they vie for the boys’ title  of the 2017 ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.

KC entered Friday’s penultimate day with a sizable 15-point lead and extended that to 39 in the afternoon session.

However that lead was reduced to only seven points at the end of the day.

KC now sits on 139 points with Calabar on 132.

And the top two schools should not face any major competition from the other schools to attain the title based on current point standings.

Jamaica College ended the day in third spot on 98 points. St. Jago High (69 points) and St. Elizabeth Technical High School (40 points) round off the top five.

The fight for the girls’ title is relatively close, but three-time defending champions boast a 20-point lead heading into the final day.

Edwin Allen have tallied 130 points to lead second place Holmwood Technical, who have 110 points.

St. Jago High (104 points), Hydel High (89 points) and Excelsior High (65 points) round off the top five.
