Many Infuriated By Man’s Claim That Jamaican Men Have Multiple Wives
During a recently aired episode of the popular American television court program – Divorce Court, a 26-year-old man by the name of Korin Taylor made some surprising statements that have seemingly infuriated many Jamaicans.
During the episode, Judge Lynn Toler asks Korin: “Did you really tell her you wanted two girlfriends?”
After Korin promptly answers “yes”, Judge Lynn Toler then asks “What did you expect her response to be?”
Korin then responds saying: “She knew where my family come from. My family comes from Jamaica…they have about seven wives….seven wives, seven girlfriends….as long as they take care of each other…it’s ok”.
Scores of individuals have since used social media to voice their opinions on Korin’s statements.
Suzanne Simpson writes: “Which Jamaica is he from? Cause that ain’t happening in Jamaica u can’t have more than one wife. He is lying!”
Saran Nicole writes: “I’m Jamaican and that is a darn lie. Which Jamaica…These women kill for their spouses or significant other. We Jamaican too jealous to share. Let him go weh from yah wid him liad self”
Sharon A Rose writes: “Polygamy does not exist in Jamaica. The culture of men wanting to have more than one partner, exist everywhere. A dem raas ting mi a chat ’bout! Propaganda!!”
Annique Reid-Rumble writes: “Is there another Jamaica somewhere in the world? Because I live in the one in the Caribbean and polygamy is illegal, you can find yourself in jail if married to more than one person. This person is lying to suit himself.”
Fearless King writes: “Hmmm… I’ve been a Jamaican all my life and in no way or form is that 2 wives thing part of our culture. It isn’t acceptable here. He’s a lying liar. He’s Pathologically mendacious”
