Last night (August 13), Jamaican athletes showed true grit and determination as they manged to secured two medals in the women’s 100m final.
Elaine Thompson (10.71s) was magnificent in her run as she managed to place some distance between herself and the rest of the field just prior to crossing the finish line for Gold.
Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce who has been plagued by injuries for some time was third with a time of 10.86s.
Today Jamaica’s Usain Bolt will attempt to make history as the first person to win gold in 3 consecutive Olympics in the 100m.
