3 Die in Portmore Accident

Three more people have met an untimely demise on the nation’s roads.

The most recent fatal accident occurred on Dyke Road in Portmore, St. Catherine, shortly before 2:00 a.m. (July 21).

A policeman attached to the Kingston Central Police division is reportedly among the casualties.

According to Assistant Superintendent from the St. Catherine Fire Division, Patrick Callum, a preliminary investigation indicates that it was a head-on collision.

Fire departments from Spanish Town and Portmore had to cut three bodies from the mangled wrecks of a Toyota Yaris and a Honda CRV.

Less than a week ago, six persons died after a Suzuki Grand Vitara plunged into the Rio Cobre. The vehicle’s driver was reportedly overtaking a line of traffic when he failed to negotiate a bend, resulting in the incident.
