Donald Trump-Owned Model Agency Sued By Jamaican Model
Jamaican fashion model Alexia Palmer now reportedly awaits a judge’s decision on a lawsuit she filed against a modeling agency owned by United States (US) Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
According to Reuters news agency, the model is accusing Trump Model Management LLC of lying to the federal government in its work-visa application that said she would be paid a $75,000-a-year salary while living in the United States.
The report states that according to court documents, “Palmer received a total of $3,880.75 during the three years she was under contract with the agency.
The complaint alleges “fraudulent misrepresentation” and violations of U.S. immigration and labor laws. It asks for $225,000 in back pay”.
The suit was filed in October 2014 according to Reuters.
Trump’s lawyers said the case is “frivolous” and “without merit” the report also stated.
The decision of a motion by Trump Management to have the case dismissed is expected by the end of March.
