25% Discount on North-South Tolls, But Only For One Month

On Wednesday Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced that the proposed toll rates for the North-South  link of Highway 2000 will be reduced by 25 percent.

However that discount will last for only 30 days.

According to RJR, Transport Minister Mike Henry has since stated that consultations with the developers will take place during the discount period which will only last a month.

The Minister also stated that the one month period will be used to sit down with the developers of the road to discuss some of the issues in relation to the public’s complaints   – one specifically will be the developmental plan along the road to increase the traffic.

The temporary reduction in toll rates comes after significant public outcry when the proposed rates (as high as $3,700) were published last week.
