Several People Shot in JLP Motorcade; 1 Dead

While speaking with RJR News General Secretary of the Jamaica Labour Party Dr Horace Chang was asked to provide some details about an incident in Flanker, St James today where a motorcade carrying Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) supporters was shot at.

According to Dr Chang, several people were shot with one person confirmed dead.

He did not yet have any information about the condition of the other persons that were injured in the shooting.

In another incident that took place at Chancery Hall in St Andrew on Nomination Day (Feb 9), a man was reportedly riding a motorbike when he was attacked by the men who were travelling in a white motorcar.

  

The victim was not wearing any clothing that would suggest he was aligned to any political party, police say.

He was stabbed several times, slashed in the face and gutted.

His attackers escaped but police, who were quick on the scene rushed the man top hospital where he has been listed in critical condition.

The aforementioned incidents follow another deadly shooting that took place at a Labour Party (JLP) meeting in the Sam Sharpe Square in Montego Bay, St James on Sunday night.

Two people were shot dead at the event and later identified by police as known gangsters.
