“Jezebel – Shut you Mouth!” – Warmington Erupts in Anger at Hanna
Member of Parliament for South West St Catherine, Everald Warmington is once again under the spotlight of the media for yet another inappropriate comment.
He was scolded by his colleagues in Gordon House after referring to fellow parliamentarian and Minister of Youth and Culture, Lisa Hanna, as a Jezebel.
According to Loop News:
Warmington’s description of the former beauty queen came as members of opposite sides of the floor threw insults back and forth after Labour and Social Security Minister Dr Fenton Ferguson announced that the minimum wage had been increased by $100 per day.
The opposition Jamaica Labour Party rejected the increase, describing it as an insult.
Warmington himself was quite vocal on the issue and was jeered by Hanna.
He shot back.
“Jezebel – Shut you mouth!”.
This did not go down well with members of the People’s National Party who berated Warmington for the disparaging remarks.
He was forced to retract his statement after Deputy House Speaker, Lloyd B Smith, ordered him to.
Warmington is not known to keep his feelings inside him and has been in trouble on more than one occasion for his off the cuff remarks.
