Jamaica to Participate in Copa America Centenario

Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz will have quite a busy schedule over the next year.

In addition to their respective club and World Cup qualification duties, ‘the Boyz’ will also participate in the Copa America Centenario, referred to in English as the 2016 American Centennial Cup in June 2016.

The Copa America Centenario is a celebration of the centenary of CONMEBOL and Copa América, and is to be the first Copa América hosted outside of South America.

The 16-team tournament is scheduled to take place in various cities across the United States between June 3-26 as a way of celebrating the world’s oldest international tournament.

  

The tournament will feature the 10 nations from South America’s CONMEBOL region and 6 nations from CONCACAF.

  •  Costa Rica (Winners of 2014 Copa Centroamericana)
  •  Jamaica (Winners of 2014 Caribbean Cup)
  •  Panama or  Cuba (Winners of Copa América Centenario qualifying play-offs)
  •  Trinidad and Tobago or  Haiti (Winners of Copa América Centenario qualifying play-offs
