Reggae Boyz Approach Top 50 in Latest FIFA Rankings

Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz are now only two places away from a much needed spot in the top 50 countries in the most recent FIFA rankings.

After leaping 21 places in last month’s rankings, the Boyz jumped another three places and now sit at number 52.

Jamaica has been impressive in recent times finishing 2nd in the recently concluded Gold Cup tournament after losing only to Mexico in the final.

A top 50 spot is crucial as a recent rule change by the English Football Association stipulates that in order for foreign players to obtain work permits, they must represent countries that have been in the top 50 of the FIFA rankings over the past two years.

Mexico is still the number one CONCACAF team head of The United States.

Mexico remains at 26, the USA are now at number 28 while Trinidad and Tobago follows Jamaica closely at number 54.
