Who Me?
The thoughts that reside in my head
You wished you knew right? If only I’d said
The dreams I have at nights in bed
Would read like a book, perhaps one you have read
What you see when you look at me
Everything, from A to Z?
Is it my dark brown eyes or my artistry
Or my African ancestry?
My six two frame my kinky hair
Some things I like some I don’t care
I’d like to be, I’m not yet there
I wonder sometimes, well more like a lot
The riddles of life, who wrote the plot?
There are things you like and I do not
Your aptitude , my weak spot
Your beliefs, what you understand
May be strange to another man
My point of view, I’d say off hand
Small to you? To me it’s grand
How life can change, when things go south
And leave you with a gaping mouth
What you thought you knew, you now doubt
Seems that’s what life’s all about
When I look deep in your eyes
Behind the curtain, beyond the disguise
The things I see which I despise
A reflection of me, should take my own advice
