Body of Baby Discovered at Riverton Dump
The body of a recently-born male infant was discovered at approximately 1:00 pm today at a section of the Riverton Dump.
The newborn’s body was found shortly after a truck deposited garbage in the area.
According to police sources the umbilical cord was not yet detached.
“We can confirm that the body of the baby was found and we are following several leads, which we believe could lead us to persons responsible for the act,” said a senior officer from the St Andrew South Division.
Detectives are currently trying to find the parents of the infant.
