Love means, waking up with you on my mind
It should be affectionate, be gentle, and kind
Love means, forgiving the mistakes that were made
Accepting your colours, your tone and your shade
Love means, when you upset me, I can too be free
To be annoyed, I’ll get over it, I’m just being me
Love means, you’re still able to make my heart speed
And conjures anticipation, (between the line you can read)
Love means, some days you will like me, some days you won’t
And treat me no different, on the days that you don’t
Love means I’ll have your back when it’s up against a wall
I’ll be there to defend you against one, against all
Love means, not being selfish, just doing for me
One is a lonely number, not ‘I’ but a WE
Love means, accepting the good and the bad
More than a façade, in the clothes that you’re clad
Love means, something slightly varied at different times
But I know I love you, if it’s a mountain then I will climb
