Anita Antoinette exits The Voice (Video)
Her journey on The Voice is over but Jamaican-born singer Anita Antoinette represented the island of Jamaica well with several outstanding performances.
The talented reggae singer who made it the top 10 contestants of NBC’s popular reality TV singing competition was eliminated on Tuesday night (November 25).
Her final solo performance was “The Remedy” by Jason Mraz but it failed to remedy her problem of declining support, ultimately resulting in her elimination from the competition.
This was Anita’s second stint on the hit show. She previously entered the competition during its third season but was eliminated in the blind auditions.
Despite her early elimination she returned with a vigour in season 7 and was quickly becoming one the most favoured contestants to go all the way and become – ‘The Voice’.
Her most recent performances garnered significant criticism for her ‘over reliance’ on reggae and song selections.
A top 10 finish in a competition such as this is still an admirable accomplishment by any measure.
While we are sad to see Anita exit the competition, we know she has a bright future ahead of her and hopefully will be able capitalize on the exposure she has received from the contest.
Watch her perform “The Remedy” and share your thoughts in the comments.
