Usain Bolt ranks as one of the top 50 highest paid athletes over the last 12 months!
Double sprint world record holder Usain Bolt with earnings of USD $23.2 million dollars has been ranked as the 45th highest paid athlete in the world over the last 12 months.
The information was revealed by Forbes Magazine in its latest release of the world’s highest paid athletes.
According to Forbes, Bolt continues to blow away the competition on and off the track and earned $200.000 in winnings on the track with the remaining $23.0m coming by way of endorsements.
Being ranked 45th sees Bolt ahead of NBA stars Dirk Nowitski and Blake Griffin and Major League Baseball star Aex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees, Manchester City midfelder Yaya Toure, Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie, Formula One quadruple world champion Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull and Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
The list in the meantime is headed by boxer Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather with earnings of $105 million.
Real Madrid midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo is second with $80.0m followed by Lebron James $72.3m, Lionel Messi $64.7m and Kobe Bryant $61.5m.
The top 10 is completed by Tiger Woods $61.2m, Roger Federer $56.2m, Phil Mickelson $53.2m, Rafael Nadal $44.5m and Matt Ryan $43.8m.
Newly crowned French Open champion Maria Sharapova with earnings of $24.4m is the highest placed woman on the list at 34 while Serena Williams is 55th after earning $22.0m.
