There was no place for Liverpool midfielders Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Leiva, Manchester United’s Rafael Da Silva and AC Milan duo Kaka and Robinho.
The World Cup hosts have until June 2 to decide whether to make any changes before the final 23-man squad has to be named.
The players will meet up on May 26 in Rio de Janeiro and play two friendlies against Panama and Serbia before opening their World Cup campaign against Croatia in Sao Paulo on June 12.
