While many Jamaicans around the world will be elated to hear this good news, no one could be happier than Mr. Winston Watts himself.

After being denied funding by the Jamaican Olympic Association, the enormous training costs forced him to scale down his four-man team to a two-man team. At one point , he was even paying for team-mates to fly over from Jamaica for training from his own pocket.

The XXII Olympic Winter Games will be held on February 7-23.

Bobsledigh competition will get underway on Monday february 17.

It will soon be time to chant those ‘Cool Runnings’ lyrics again. Reacquaint yourself with the song below:

COOL RUNNINGS LYRICS

Nuff people say they know they can’t believe,
Jamaica we have a bobsled team
We have the one Derice,
And the one Junior,
Yule Brenner,
And the man Sanka

The fastest of the fastest of Jamaican sprinters,
Go to Olympics, fight for Jamaica!
The fastest of the fastest of Jamaican sprinters,
Respect to the man Irv Blister
