Baby Beaten to Death in St. Mary

A 22-month-old baby girl by the name of  Ishana Gardner died from injuries she received following a severe beating in the community of Dean Pen, St. Mary yesterday evening.

A suspect believed to be her granduncle is now missing following the incident. Based on reports by Irie Fm News, the child was left in the care of her Granduncle by her Mother.

The child was taken to the Highgate Police sometime after 7pm yesterday, where the Granduncle claimed that the infant was burnt. Police then took the child to the Port Maria Hospital and a medical examination concluded that the 22-month-old girl was severely beaten.

A search has since been initiated for the granduncle.
