Tuffy Anderson in Jamaican squad to face Panama
Prolific local marksman Jermaine ‘Tuffy’ Anderson has been included in Jamaica’s 25 man party which will depart the island for Panama where they will face the host nation in a crucial CONCACAF Hexagonal Round World Cup qualifier in Panama City.
The final squad was decided following a final training session held by coach Winfried Schafer at the Stadium East Field last night.
Also included were Luton Shelton, Marlon King and Chris Humphrey who are making a return to the squad after being dropped by previous coach Theodore Whitmore.
Cut from the squad are Adrian Reid, Wolry Wolfe, and goalkeeper Dwayne Miller who is injured and has been replaced by Richard McCallum.
The rest of the squad which will be on the chartered flight which departs from Kingston reads: skipper Donovan Ricketts, Gariece McPherson, Wes Morgan, Lloyd Doyley, Daniel Gordon, Alvas Powell, Shaun Cummings, Jermaine Taylor, Rudolph Austin, Marvin Elliott, Jermaine Johnson, Theo Robinson, Jobi McAnuf, Garath McCleary, Jermaine Beckford, Darren Mattocks, Ryan Johnson, O’brian Woodbine, and Kemar Lawrence.
In the other CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers, Mexico in third place with 8 points face Honduras at the Azteca Stadium, while Costa Rica and the United States will face off in a top of the table clash at the Costa Rica National Stadium in San Jose.
