Reggae Boyz Set for Honduras Return Clash in Tegucigalpa

Jamaica’s senior men’s football team will return to action on Monday when they face Honduras in the return fixture of their CONCACAF Nations League Group B encounter at the National Stadium in Tegucigalpa.

The Reggae Boyz head into the contest sitting second in Group B with six points from three matches, while Honduras are fourth with three points from the same number of games.

Monday’s match will be the second meeting between the teams in the current campaign, following Honduras’ 1-0 victory over Jamaica in the first fixture at the National Stadium in Kingston.

That result handed the Reggae Boyz a defeat on home soil, and the Jamaicans will now travel to Tegucigalpa for the reverse encounter as they continue their Nations League campaign.

Despite already facing the Central American side, Reggae Boyz head coach Rudolph Speid says he is still not completely familiar with Honduras’ style of play.

Speid and his players will therefore be preparing for another test against a Honduran team that has already managed to get the better of Jamaica in the competition.

Jamaica enter Monday’s encounter with twice as many points as Honduras after the opening three matches, with the Reggae Boyz collecting six points compared with Honduras’ three.

The match will mark Jamaica’s fourth outing in Group B and comes as both teams continue their Nations League campaigns.

The Reggae Boyz will be looking for a different result in Tegucigalpa after Honduras emerged 1-0 winners from their previous meeting in Jamaica.

Kick-off at the National Stadium in Tegucigalpa is set for 9:00 pm Jamaica time on Monday.
