Jamaica Premier League Back in Action This Weekend

Monday night football will return to the Jamaica Premier League when the new season gets underway this weekend, with Stadium East hosting a double-header to complete the opening round.
Molynes United will face Treasure Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, before Racing United take on Arnett Gardens at 8 p.m.
Four matches will be played on Sunday, September 13, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Mount Pleasant travel to the Brammy Clarke Sports Complex to face promoted Tru Juice, while Dunbeholden host Cavalier at the Dunbeholden Complex.
Tivoli Gardens will welcome Humble Lion to the Edward Seaga Complex, while Montego Bay United and Chapleton Maroons will meet at Jarrett Park.
Defending champions Portmore United will not feature in the first two rounds after receiving permission to postpone their matches because of their participation in the Caribbean Club Championships.
Portmore are now set to begin their title defence on September 27 against Waterhouse at Ferdie Neita Park.
The league will also have a new title sponsor this season, with Wisynco coming on board through its Legend Beer brand. Legend Beer replaces Wray and Nephew as the competition’s title sponsor.
Sunday’s scheduled kick-off comes after two previous dates for the start of the season were missed, leaving local football fans waiting longer than expected for the return of the competition.
