Jamaica Still Top Caribbean Team in Women’s Football
Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz have maintained their global ranking, holding steady at 40th in the latest FIFA Coca-Cola Women’s World Rankings.
Within the Concacaf region, the Reggae Girlz sit as the fourth-highest ranked team, trailing the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Despite falling to second place globally, the United States remains the top-ranked side in Concacaf.
Canada holds ninth place in the world, while Mexico is positioned 29th, keeping both nations within the global top 40.
No Caribbean team is ranked higher than Jamaica, with Haiti next in line after climbing one spot to 49th.
Trinidad and Tobago also saw a slight improvement, moving from 76th to 75th in the updated standings.
Puerto Rico gained two places, now sitting at 77th.
At the top of the global list, reigning World Cup winners Spain have overtaken the United States for the number one spot.
Sweden has made the biggest leap among the top-ranked nations, rising three spots to take third.
England’s women’s team improved one place to reach fourth, while Germany climbed two places to fifth.
France, Brazil, Japan, Canada, and South Korea round out the current top ten.
