England Clinch T20I Series with Victory Over West Indies in Bristol
England secured an unassailable 2-0 lead in their three-match T20 International series against the West Indies with a six-wicket win at the County Ground in Bristol on Sunday.
After being sent in to bat, the West Indies posted a competitive 196 for 7, fuelled by an explosive finish that saw 75 runs scored off the final four overs.
The innings featured 15 sixes, including a 31-run over off spinner Adil Rashid — the second-most expensive over in England’s T20 history.
Johnson Charles top-scored with 47 from 39 balls, while captain Shai Hope added a composed 49 off 38 deliveries.
Rovman Powell and Jason Holder powered the late charge, smashing 34 from 15 and an unbeaten 29 from 9 respectively.
Luke Wood led the England bowling with 2 for 25. Brydon Carse, Jacob Bethell, and Rashid each took a wicket.
In reply, Jos Buttler continued his impressive form with 47 from 36 balls, steering England to 199 for 6 in 18.3 overs. Alzarri Joseph was the most successful West Indies bowler with 2 for 45.
Holder, Akeal Hosein, Roston Chase, and Romario Shepherd claimed a wicket each.
The final match of the series is set for Tuesday in Southampton.
