Sean Paul and Damian Marley Land Spots on Billboard’s 100 Best Songs of 2005

Billboard Magazine has included Jamaican stars Sean Paul and Damian “Jr Gong” Marley on its newly released list of the 100 Best Songs of 2005.

The feature, published on April 15, 2025, celebrates standout tracks from two decades ago and highlights the enduring appeal of both artistes.

Sean Paul’s hit single We Be Burnin secured the 86th spot on the chart.

Billboard praised the track as one of the defining dancehall singles of its time, noting that it showcased America’s continued fascination with the genre’s energy and rhythm.

Meanwhile, Damian Marley’s Welcome to Jamrock was ranked significantly higher at number 25.

The publication described it as a powerful anthem for Jamaica, driven by a memorable hook and a sound that remains compelling and relevant.

Billboard also referred to the song as both “timeless” and “addictive.”
