Vybz Kartel Announces He’s Living in Florida After Release from Prison

Jamaican dancehall artist Vybz Kartel has confirmed that he is now residing in Florida, USA, following his release from prison.

Kartel, who made the revelation during an appearance on The Breakfast Club with Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy, explained that he no longer resides in Jamaica.

Despite questions regarding his safety in Jamaica, Kartel clarified that his decision to live in Florida was not influenced by any fear of the Jamaican government or people.

Instead, he cited his 13-year prison sentence as the catalyst for seeking a fresh start.

Kartel expressed that his current location in Florida is geographically convenient, allowing him to easily travel to key cities like New York, Los Angeles, and London, facilitating both his work and personal activities.

The artist emphasised his intent to avoid returning to the areas in Jamaica he once frequented, expressing a desire to remain free from negative influences and steer clear of trouble moving forward.

Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, was released from prison last year after spending over a decade behind bars for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.

His conviction was overturned by the United Kingdom Privy Council, which found misconduct during the trial, a decision later upheld by Jamaica’s Court of Appeal.
