Reggae Girlz Edge Peru to Complete Friendly Series Sweep

Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz secured a 3-2 victory over Peru at Estadio Miguel Grau in Lima on Wednesday, wrapping up their two-match friendly series with back-to-back wins.

The result extended Jamaica’s winning streak to four games.

Six changes were made to the squad that won 2-0 on Sunday, but the visitors started strongly.

Naya Cardoza opened the scoring in the sixth minute, heading in a cross from Siobhan Wilson.

Reanna Blades doubled the lead in the 19th minute with a well-placed shot from the left flank, and three minutes later, Tiffany Cohen capitalised on a goalkeeper’s error to make it 3-0.

Peru responded in the 35th minute when Birka Ruiz found the far corner past Jamaica’s goalkeeper Liya Brooks.

Just before halftime, Brooks preserved the two-goal cushion by saving a penalty from Geraldine Cisneros.

Alondra Vilchez gave Peru hope in the 54th minute with a half-volley from the edge of the box, but Jamaica held firm to see out the win.
