Hurricane Beryl Moves West of Jamaica

Hurricane Beryl is currently situated west of Jamaica.

As it continues to move away from the island, its outer bands will likely linger into this afternoon.

Today, expect cloudy conditions with isolated showers anticipated mainly across southern parishes, especially in the morning.

Here’s the 24-hour forecast from Jamaica’s Met Service:

  

– This Morning: Isolated showers expected in southern parishes; otherwise, mostly cloudy and windy.

– This Afternoon: Cloudy skies with isolated showers possible in northwestern parishes; windy conditions in southern parishes.

– Tonight: Partly cloudy skies expected.

Maximum temperatures for today are forecasted to reach 32 degrees Celsius in Kingston and Montego Bay.

Looking ahead with the 3-day forecast starting tomorrow:

– Friday: Morning clouds likely over eastern parishes. Scattered showers and thunderstorms expected in the afternoon and evening across most areas, particularly eastern and south-central parishes at night.

– Saturday: Morning showers and thunderstorms possible in eastern and south-central parishes, otherwise mostly cloudy with scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. It will also be windy.

  

– Sunday: Anticipate mostly cloudy conditions with continued windy weather.

Additionally, a Tropical Wave currently near Puerto Rico is projected to reach Jamaica by Friday night, potentially bringing additional weather impacts.
