Reggae Girlz Fall to Brazil in Back-to-Back 4-0 Defeats

Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz faced a tough challenge in their second and final of two friendly matches  against Brazil on Tuesday night, culminating in a 4-0 defeat.

This result mirrored their previous loss in Recife on Saturday, bringing their total goal concession to eight over the two games, with none in reply.

The match, held in Salvador, saw Corinthians forward Jheniffer emerge as a standout player for Brazil.

Jheniffer scored twice, finding the net in the 64th and 79th minutes. The Brazilians had already set the tone early on, with Debinha opening the scoring just 7 minutes into the game.

Veteran footballer Marta sealed the victory with a goal six minutes before the final whistle.

These friendlies marked the beginning of Hubert Busby’s reappointment as head coach of the Reggae Girlz.

However, the Jamaican side was without their star striker Khadijah ‘Bunny’ Shaw, whose absence was keenly felt.

Despite the defeats, the series in Brazil provided valuable experience and exposure for the Reggae Girlz.

Coach Hubert Busby will now look to regroup and refocus the team as they prepare for upcoming competitions.

The Reggae Girlz’ next challenge will be to bounce back from these losses and strengthen their performance, aiming to build on the foundation of their previous international successes.
