Reggae Girl Paige Bailey-Gayle Joins Newcastle United
As they aim to fortify their bid for promotion to the Women’s Super League, Newcastle United have successfully secured the services of talented Jamaican forward Paige Bailey-Gayle from Crystal Palace.
The acquisition was officially confirmed on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old Bailey-Gayle, who originally emerged from the Arsenal youth system, made her debut for the Gunners in 2018 before experiencing spells with Leicester City Women.
In 2022, she made the switch to Crystal Palace, where she continued to make a name for herself in women’s football.
Internationally, Bailey-Gayle has been a vital part of the Reggae Girlz team, contributing significantly to their historic journey in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The Reggae Girlz made history by advancing to the Round of 16, marking a significant achievement for Bailey-Gayle and her teammates.
Notably, she became the first World Cup participant from Crystal Palace, adding another feather to her cap.
The move to Newcastle United Women signifies a new chapter in Bailey-Gayle’s career, and her presence is expected to provide an added attacking dimension to the Magpies’ lineup.
As Newcastle currently leads the F.A Women’s League, North Premier Division standings with 31 points, the addition of Bailey-Gayle is anticipated to enhance their prospects for promotion to the prestigious Women’s Super League.
