Jamaican Sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce Inks Deal With Luxury Watch Brand Richard Mille

Iconic Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, has recently inked a three-year partnership with the renowned Swiss luxury watch brand, Richard Mille.

The deal, which was finalised on July 1, marks Fraser-Pryce’s first international sponsorship outside of her long-standing shoe sponsor, Nike.

The collaboration with Richard Mille will not only support her athletic pursuits but also contribute to her Pocket Rocket Foundation, which grants scholarships to promising Jamaican high-school student-athletes.

Shelly-Ann is currently aiming for a record-breaking sixth 100m title at the upcoming World Athletics Championships in Budapest next month.

Joining the esteemed roster of Richard Mille ambassadors, including Yohan Blake, Rafael Nadal, Wayde van Niekerk, Didier Drogba, and Fernando Alonso, Fraser-Pryce is in prestigious company.

Her illustrious career, spanning almost two decades, has earned her the title of arguably the greatest female sprinter of all time. In 2008, she became the first Jamaican woman to claim an Olympic 100m title, and she continued her dominance by winning the 100m title at the World Championships in Berlin, Germany.

Over the years, Fraser-Pryce has achieved remarkable milestones, securing her second Olympic 100m title in 2012, a feat previously accomplished by only two other women – Wyoma Tyus and Gail Devers. In 2013, she made history in Moscow by becoming the first woman to win the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m at a World Championships, and she added a fourth 100m title in Helsinki in 2015.

Despite facing a toe injury in 2016, Fraser-Pryce earned a bronze medal in the 100m at the Rio 2016 Olympics, making her the only woman to medal in the 100m at three consecutive Olympic Games.

A testament to her determination and resilience, Fraser-Pryce welcomed her son Zyon in 2017 and later made a remarkable comeback in 2019, securing her fourth 100m world title in Doha, Qatar. She continued her success with a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, further solidifying her status as the only woman to medal in the 100m at four consecutive Olympic Games.

In 2022, at the World Championships in Eugene, Oregon, Fraser-Pryce’s remarkable legacy continued to grow as she clinched the 100m title in a championship record time of 10.67. This win also marked her as the first track athlete to secure five gold medals in the same event at a World Championships. Additionally, she won a silver medal in the 200m, with a notable time of 21.83, just behind her compatriot Shericka Jackson, who secured gold in 21.45 – the second-fastest time ever recorded by a woman in the distance.

During that same year, Fraser-Pryce achieved another extraordinary feat, running below 10.7 seconds for the 100m an unprecedented seven times, making her the only woman to achieve this milestone.

The new partnership with Richard Mille is a testament to Fraser-Pryce’s standing as one of the greatest athletes in history and signifies her enduring dominance in the world of sprinting. With this collaboration, Fraser-Pryce is poised to continue inspiring and captivating fans worldwide for many years to come.
