Jamaica’s eight-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt recently joined up with South African side Mamelodi Sundowns to partake in a training session.

Bolt is reportedly in the country for his role in an Athletics South Africa development scheme.

The 31-year-old has always publicly expressed a desire to play football professionally after retiring from athletics.

Mamelodi Sundowns are the current Confederation of African Football League champions and 2016 CAF Club Of The Year.

They are also the only South African team to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup where they finished in 6th place.

On Monday the Sundowns announced Bolt’s arrival via Twitter stating:

“Mamelodi Sundowns had a special guest in their training session on Monday morning at the club’s base in Chloorkop, sprint legend Usain Bolt.”

Bolt is scheduled to go on trial with the German Bundesliga Team – Borussia Dortmund this March.
