Reggae Boyz Beat French Guiana to Reach Caribbean Cup Final
On Thursday night (June 22) Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz came from behind to secure a victory over French Guiana to book a spot in the final of the Scotiabank Caribbean Football Union (CFU) men’s Caribbean Cup.
French Guiana took the lead in the 21st minute courtesy of a goal by Loic Baal, but Jermaine Johnson equalised for Jamaica in the 70th minute.
The teams remained locked at 1-1 after regulation and extra time.
In the subsequent penalty shoot-out, Michael Binns failed to convert for Jamaica, however Owayne Gordon, Shamar Nicholson, O’Neil fisher and Cory Burke all found the back of the net.
Curacao won the other semi-final last on the night after stopping host Martinique 2-1.
On Sunday Jamaica will face curacao in the championship decider, while French Guiana and Martinique will face off in the third place playoff.
