Vendors Traumatised After 15 Armed Men Rob Coronation Market
Vendors at the Coronation Market, in downtown Kingston, were reportedly left itraumatised after 15 men brandishing guns, knives and other weapons robbed them early Saturday morning.
Following the coordinated robbery, a police source reportedly stated:
“The vendors are hardworking people, many of them pensioners or farmers trying to earn and this is how criminals are treating them. This has to stop.”
The men reportedly pounced around 3:30, relieving the helpless vendors of “thousands of dollars” by the end of the ordeal.
The incident has understandably left vendors on edge.
Police say they will be bolstering their presence in and around the market district.
