Hotel Redevelopment to Create 500 Permanent Jobs

The Dragon Bay Hotel in Portland is reportedly set to undergo a massive redevelopment beginning this year after being closed for the better part of two decades.

The 250-room property is expected to reopen in 2019.

Minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, Daryl Vaz recently disclosed that as many as 800 persons will receive employment throughout the construction phase of the project.

The minister also revealed that some 500 permanent jobs will be created at the five-star resort following its reopening.

The redevelopment will reportedly cost US$100 million and the resort will operate under the Sandals brand.
