Well Known Mortician Slain in MoBay
A well-known mortician based in Montego Bay was reportedly shot dead in the Bogue Village community in the parish on Monday morning (December 5).
The victim is 31-year-old Chrissy Vaughan.
The shooting reportedly took place sometime after 2 am at a club where Vaughan was among a group of patrons when a fight broke out between two individuals.
One of the two individuals involved in the fracas allegedly brandished a firearm and fired, shooting the mortician in her head, as she sought to flee the scene in her motorcar.
She lost control of the vehicle which careened into a sidewalk.
According to police, Vaughan was discovered slumped around the steering wheel of the vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound.
She was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital.
Police are seemingly confident that they will be able to nab the shooter.
Acting police superintendent in charge of operations at the St James Police Division Gary McKenzie yesterday stated:
“Early this morning, the police were notified that an explosion was heard in the Bogue Village area. Based on what we gather so far, persons were at a club. They are known to each other and the understanding is that a dispute developed and one person drew a firearm and fired shots, one of which caught her”.
